About Noah M. Eger, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Noah Michael Eger joined the practice in 1997 and represents the third generation of optometry in the family. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Vertebrae Physiology from the Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Science from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. In 1997 he graduated with honors, with a Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Noah is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the American Optometric Association. He has performed vision screenings and acted as the eye consultant for local school districts: Moon Area, Cornell, St. Joseph, and Rhema. As a member of the Health Care Team for the Holy Family Institute, a residential treatment center for children in crisis, he has provided comprehensive vision examinations to those young persons in need of eye care. Dr. Noah has participated in VisionUSA by providing gratis services to the indigent. He served as optometrist for a local ARC, and was the consultant to the Robinson Development Center for the mentally and physically handicapped. Noah spent many years providing geriatric eye care to several nursing homes in Western Pennsylvania. Additionally, Dr. Eger had been the staff optometrist at Vencor Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He is acting vice president of the Moon Area Education Foundation.  Dr. Eger was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Coraopolis and was a founding member of the Coraopolis Downtown Restoration and Management Team. Noah is a member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, sat on the board as president of the Western Pennsylvania Optometric Society, and sits on the POA Legislative Affairs Committee. He was a member of the Corporate Advisory Committee for Citizen Care, Inc., which pursues employment opportunities for the mentally handicapped. Dr. Noah also is a founding member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Partnership for Progress. Noah was also the team eye doctor of the Pittsburgh Forge junior ice hockey team. Dr. Noah sits on the board of the Pittsburgh Youth Golf Foundation and adviser to the Coraopolis Community Development Corporation.   

In 2000, the Western Pennsylvania Optometric Society awarded “Young Optometrist of the Year for Western Pennsylvania” to Dr. Eger, and in 2008, the Western Pennsylvania Optometric Society named him “Optometrist of the Year.” Dr. Noah Eger lectures nationally on a variety of topics that include ocular allergies, viral eye infections, therapeutics, glaucoma and technology. As an adjunct professor to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, Dr. Noah has frequently lectured at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry to third year students.

He currently resides in Moon Township with his wife Michele, daughter Ella Rose, and son Elijah Michael. Dr. Eger is an avid golfer, Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers fan, as well as the Nittany Lions.
