About William K. Vincett Jr., OD 


Dr. Bill Vincett has over 30 years in the eye care industry as a practicing third-generation optometrist, contact lens researcher, multi-location practice owner, industry spokesman and consultant. 


He is founder and principal of Vincett Consulting Group LLC., which provides advisory services to independent eye care practices, vendor groups, ophthalmic product and device manufacturers, and private equity groups.  


Dr. Vincett is past owner and president of Vincett Eye Care Associates, LTD., a four-location, 13-doctor optometric practice acquired by MyEyeDr in 2019.  His private practice operated under the banners     Vincett Eye Care Associates (Pittsburgh, PA) and State Street Eye (Boston, MA), and achieved national status as a Vision Monday Top 50 Optical Retailer from 2015 – 19.   

Other milestones have included performing more than 20 clinical studies on behalf of contact lens manufacturers; early adoption of corneal topography, optical coherence topography (OCT), and Optomap retinal imaging for patient care; establishment of an 85-computer network for EHR compliance of 124,000 patient records; and one of the first practices in the country to embrace digital marketing for patient engagement and online reputation management. 


Dr. Vincett’s earlier career experiences have included serving as Director of Contact Lens Services for a 10-location group, establishing in-office labs at four locations, contributing to the first benchmarking guide for optometric practices, and working in a lens surfacing lab. 


Dr. Vincett has authored articles and provided professional comment for industry publications and consumer media outlets, such as Optometric Management, Contact Lens Spectrum, Optometry Today, 20/20 Magazine, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and affiliates of ABC, CBS, and NBC News. Additionally, he has provided testimony in a court of law using his proprietary methodology for determining lifetime value of    an optometric patient. 


He has held elected leadership roles in industry groups and continues to be an active member of the PMA Group, PA Focus Group, American Optometric Association Contact Lens Section, Western Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and Vision Council of America. 


He is an alumnus of Ohio State University College of Optometry and Keene State College, and holds optometric licensure in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine and South Carolina. 


Dr. Vincett and his wife Christine – a retired banking executive – split time between residences in Pittsburgh, PA, and Boston, MA. They have two children – Kathryn, Associate Director of Corporate Development with Trillium Therapeutics in Boston, and son Will, a geology graduate student at the University of Delaware.
